What can I expect at Bible Fellowship?
Our church is about "growing together in faith". This means we focus on three things:
(1) Maturity - As Christians, we are urged to "go on to maturity" (Hebrews 6:1). This means we are constantly growing and seeking to be closer to God. Ephesians 4 states that Christians mature through unity, declaring truth, studying scripture, and serving others. Thus, at Bible Fellowship, you can expect teamwork, solid preaching and teaching of the Bible, and people putting the needs of others above their own.
(2) Community - Everyone seeks to belong. The church, as the Body of Christ, is a community of Christians who love, serve, learn, and worship together. Growth as an individual comes through the collective growth of others. We value people and relationships at Bible Fellowship.
(3) Faith in Jesus - Our church is primarily about the Person and work of Jesus Christ. We direct our worship and place our faith alone in Him.
What services does Bible Fellowship offer?
We offer a variety of services at our church. To view some of them, use the link above titled "What We Do".
Why Hiawatha Lodge?
In order to accommodate our growth, we left our old building on Elizabeth Street and met temporarily at the Moose Lodge until a permanent building could be secured. Our church purchased the old Hiawatha Lodge and moved into the new building in late 2008. The building has since undergone heavy renovations in order to fit our needs. This, amazingly, was done solely by the committed work of our church members, who volunteered their time and skills to meet this great need.
Hiawatha Lodge allows our entire church to meet on Sundays (as opposed to hosting several services like we did before) and, as a building, provides unique opportunities for us to serve the public. Our location, in the midst of a popular outdoors area, allows flexibility and creativity in our ministry, while maintaining good connections with the public. We hope to utilize our new building to its full potential and desire for you to experience it with us.
What denomination is Bible Fellowship?
We have partnered ourselves with the Associated Gospel Churches of Canada (AGC). For more on what we believe as a church, click here.
What can I expect on a Sunday morning?
We would encourage you to come early (or stay late) on Sunday to visit our Cafe and meet some new people. We are a fairly casual church so feel free to leave the suit at home. Our service will include music, preaching, prayer, and communion.
What can I expect for my kids?
Our church offers several options for your children. For infants, it is preferred they stay with their parents for the duration of your visit. For your convenience, we do have an Infant Room at the back of the auditorium so that parents may care for their children there if necessary and still see and hear the service.
We also have a Toddler Room open from 10am - noon for kids who can walk well up to Pre-Kindergarten. They may be cared for by our staff during this time.
Children in Kindergarten up to grade 8 participate in Sunday School during the preaching time. We have several age groups for Sunday School where kids will participate in crafts, games, and Bible lessons.
*The safety of your children is important to us. We require all staff working with children to undergo a criminal background check prior to any involvement at the church. Additionally, you will need to register your child and can only pick them up after the service by presenting a custom ID tag. For more information, click the link above titled "What We Do".
